THREE charities chosen by the previous Mayor of Torfaen will receive a share of £5,516.27 as part of her year-long appeal fund.
Cllr Veronica Crick chose to nominate Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital Charity, St David’s Hospice Care and Ty Hafan, who will receive £1,830, £1,856.27 and £1,830 respectively.
Cllr Crick said: “There are many worthy causes but these charities affect so many people from birth to grave.
“I would like to thank everyone who made a donation to my appeal fund and who supported my charity events throughout my year in office.
“Their generosity has resulted in more than £5,000 going to worthy causes that benefit local people.
“It was a fantastic honour to be the Mayor of Torfaen and during the year I met many outstanding individuals and wonderful community groups who do so much to make this borough a great place to live."
The fund was closed on Thursday, November 16 as trustees approved the distribution to the charities.
