AN ACCIDENT has closed a busy road as emergency services attend the scene.
Station Road in Griffithstown is closed and there is slow traffic in the area due to accident.
According to traffic reports the road will be closed for some time.
A spokeswoman for South Wales Fire and Rescue Service said: "A call came in at 3:44pm with reports of a road traffic collision.
"The road traffic collision involved two vehicles.
"The fire service assisted one female from the vehicle after assessment was carried out by the ambulance service.
"Prior to arrival of the ambulance service, the fire service provided the female with oxygen therapy and medical care. Crews from Cwmbran and New Inn Fire and Rescue stations were at the scene. The incident is now left with the police."
