FOLLOWING the news that the Bethel Community Church is to be partially demolished after a devastating fire, the South Wales Argus wants to gather Newport's memories of this iconic building.
A fire, which started in the vacant former Zanzibar in Stow Hill, Newport, spread next door to the 140-year-old Grade II listed church on Friday, June 15.
In an inspiring display of hope and solidarity, the congregation of the Bethel Community Church gathered in the shadow of the ruined church to hold their Sunday service.
Now, the South Wales Argus is asking the people of Newport to contribute their memories and pictures of the church.
In particular, we are looking for pictures of the beautiful interior of the church, or pictures of the outside before the fire.
But we're also interested in hearing your memories.
Were you married in the church, or did you attend services or Sunday school there?
If you have any memories of the church you would like to share with us please call 01633 777243 or email sam.ferguson@gwent-wales.co.uk.
