EMERGENCY services are at the scene of an accident near Risca.
There are long delays in the area as only one lane is open to traffic.
An eyewitness said that there were police and ambulances on the scene of an accident on the A467 roundabout near the junction for Meadowland Drive.
A spokesman for the Welsh Ambulance Service said that there had been a road traffic collision on the dual carriageway involving a motorcyclist.
Two emergency response vehicles and two emergency ambulances were sent to the scene and one person has been taken to the Royal Gwent Hospital in Newport.
