A COMPANY will be prosecuted over an explosion that killed two workers.
Engineers Mark Sim, 41, of Caldicot, and 51-year-old Peter O'Brien, 51, from Llanishen, Cardiff, died, in the explosion in the basement of the Celsa Steel UK plant in Splott, Cardiff, in November 2015.
Five other men were injured in the explosion.
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has informed Celsa Manufacturing (UK) Ltd that it will be prosecuted.
Celsa Manufacturing (UK) Ltd is due to appear at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court on September 11, 2018, to face a charge under Section 2 (1) of the Health and Safety at Work Act.
The families of Mark Sim and Peter O’Brien have been informed that Celsa Manufacturing (UK) Ltd will be prosecuted, say HSC.
