SCHOOLS are being encouraged to get involved in a national fundraising campaign.

BBC Children in Need, in partnership with Twinkl, a leading educational resource publisher, is calling on schools across the region to join the 2018 schools fundraising campaign.

Last year local schools, including Ty Sign Primary School in Risca and Caerleon Lodge Hill Primary School raised more than £16,950 in support of the charity.

This year’s campaign invites pupils and teachers to help raise even more money to support disadvantaged children and young people right across the UK.

Schools that sign up to the fundraising campaign will receive a free fundraising pack full of fundraising ideas, inspiration, tools, tips, and resources.

Founder and CEO of Twinkl, Jon Seaton, said: “The work of BBC Children in Need and the projects it supports help so many children and young people across the UK and we feel privileged to be part of this year’s campaign.”
