THE family of a Cwmbran woman, who is the victim of a murder inquiry have paid tribute to the young mum.
The 24-year-old died following an incident at Bagley Court, Thornhill, Cwmbran on Friday, September 14.
Miss Jones, who leaves behind a four-year-old daughter, died on Monday at the University of Wales Hospital, Cardiff.
Born and brought up in Cwmbran, her family, who still live in the town, said: "Gemma was a lovely, happy young girl and a loving, caring mother to her four-year-old daughter."
They added: "Gemma will be sadly missed by all her family, especially her daughter who she adored."
Forensics officers attended the Bagley Court address on Monday night, following her death.
Experts spent several hours in the property before the house was boarded up.
A 24 year-old man was arrested under suspicion of causing Miss Jones' death, but has since been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
The police are still investigating the cause of Miss Jones' death, but are treating it as murder.
