Tonight, tonight, wont be just any night, tonight there will be no morning star..... etc blah blah blah!

Tonight I am performing at a presentation evening for Urban Circle. Urban Circle is an amazing youth project based in Pil and open to all Newport's young people.

They run and online radio station, recording studios and internet cafe. They also provide performers for many of the city centre events and are seen regularly at the Maindee festival and other similar fetes and carnivals.

The guy behind it is a very likable and unassuming hero, Dennis Mackenzie.

Here is a place for kids who are disadvantaged, disaffected or simply disgruntled, to go and learn new skills, develop sound social networks and have a platform from which to perform.

These kids are from a variety of backgrounds, cultures and ethnic origins, but the thing they all have in common is they all have bucket loads of talent. There are singers, dancers, DJ's and MC's - in fact the whole range of performing arts are displayed in abundance.

I can see many future stars shinning as a result of the groundwork being done now. If you come across Urban Circle or get a chance to see some of their performances, do not hesitate, I promise that you wont be disappointed.

Urban circle have been going for 2 years now and tonight is a celebration of their accomplishments.

The Mayor will be there amongst other invited dignitaries. 2 years is even more remarkable when you consider they run by fund raising and the basic payments they get for their performances. The budget is usually very tight, but the performances are always gold plated and silver lined. go to www.urbancircle.co.uk I am performing a brief set tonight and am a little 'bovered' as I need to keep it polite and curse free, infront of the invited bigwigs.

Neither of which are attributes found in abundance in most comedy clubs. Now, do you think I should go all respectful in a suit, or keep it a bit scruffy and a bit Indie with an old t-shirt and my dog eared All Stars?

Thursday is the Larfalot Comedy Night at Le Pub and then on the weekend I am in Bristol performing, so quite a busy week.
