A TREDEGAR sex attacker was jailed for seven years at Cardiff crown court.
Peter O'Hara, 29, of Waun Deg, Tredegar had been found guilty of rape during a trial at Newport crown court last month.
He was released on bail for a report to be prepared, prior to his hearing at Cardiff.
Prosecutor Marion Lewis said O'Hara met his victim in Tredegar in the early hours of March 3.
He said the woman, who is in her twenties, invited him into her home for a cup of tea.
It was there he raped her.
She made an immediate complaint to the police and O'Hara was arrested.
During his trial O'Hara told the jury they had both been drinking and everything that occurred was with her consent.
He was ordered to register as a sex offender for life when he is released.
