FANS of Newport DJ Tony Wright who were outraged when he was axed from Capital Gold can enjoy a temporary comeback by the popular presenter.

Tony is sitting in for Bobby McVay during a two-week break this week and next week from the Real Radio breakfast show.

He has joined Angela J for the programme which can be heard between 5am and 10am, Monday to Friday.

Before taking up the hot seat, Tony said:" It's great to be broadcasting on the biggest commercial station to Wales."

Tony, worked on Red Dragon but was best known for the decade he spent presenting the popular Capital Gold breakfast show.

Fans protested, and many signed an on-line petition, when the station decided to dispense with his services but the radio bosses ignored their calls.

Ricky Durkin, programme director at Real Radio said: "We are all very excited at having Tony around for a couple of weeks, he's a great presenter and friend of all at Real Radio."
