The Mothers' Union devotional service was well attended in spite of a cold and blustery wind.

But Father Jeremy Winston, vicar of St Mary's, produced a high-quality sermon to make up for the bad weather on the need for all to read the Bible, especially the Gospels, and on Jesus' life and devotion to duty.

Members then retired to the Priory Centre for tea and biscuits.

A bring-and-buy sale is planned for the next meeting on Thursday April 17, when members will also be sharing their favourite songs or poems.

The summer lunch, due to be held on May 15, has been cancelled, but there will be a deanery festival at St Teilo's at 7.15pm for members to attend.
