Following the success of her first novel, Usk author Julie McGowan's second book, "Just One More Summer" has been launched at the London Book Fair at Olympia.

"The first novel, The Mountains Between', became a regional bestseller within weeks of publication," said Julie, "so I'm hoping to have the same success with Just One More Summer'.

"Although it is a modern novel and not set in Wales as before, I'm hoping that people who like my writing style will enjoy this book just as much."

The last few months have been a flurry of activity for Julie. "There has been a round of book signings and interviews for the first novel, including an interview with Roy Noble on BBC Wales, while also editing and preparing Just One More Summer' for publication," she explained.

"Meanwhile, my publisher has been telling everyone that there will be a third novel out before Christmas!"

Just One More Summer' tells the story of a young woman who, having been devastated by her marriage breakdown, tries to re-capture a childhood holiday in Cornwall. In doing so she unco vers secrets which impact on her family and must be resolved before she can move on with her life. It will be available from April 19th at Mandalay book shop in Usk, local bookshops in Abergavenny and Blaenavon, and all national book stores, or direct from the publisher online: www.sunpenny.com.
