A spectacular display of dancing brought the term to a close at Chepstow’s Silhouette Dance Club, writes Jane Elson.

The young members of the club]s children’s section performed in front of an audience of parents and friends at a special presentation afternoon to celebrate their examination successes.

On this occasion more children received the honours and ultimate distinction grades than ever before and the examiner commented that he had, “never marked a dancing school so consistently highly in all my years of examining”.

Those who were successful this time are; Amy Watts, Amy Burton, Hannah Nash, Jasmine Maher, Laura Burton, Paaige Herbert, Maya Jordan Shah, Amy Hughes, Beth Watts, Jennifer Handley, Elenid Rowlands, Charlotte Bennett, Sophie Burley, Emily Gibbons, Shannon Badman, Rachel Morgan, Nataley Simpson, Arian Howells, Priya Jordan Shah, Laura Chimes, Carys Boots, Alys Smith, Olivia Brice, Emily Jones, Kayleigh Raynish, Charlotte Austwick, Siobhan Richardson, Charlotte Burley, Megan Venn Jones, Daisy Kelly, Betsy McCarthy, Fleur Girardet, Lily Clancy, Sophie Oliver, Carys Oakley, Julie Sparkes, Carla Hughes, Sylvie Hall, Alexander McMillan, Ella Hollins, Ellie Coleman, Erin Brown, Aimee Rogers, Mollie Harris, Harrison Marshall, Poppy Brice, Angharad Elson, Sephrenia Canty, Robyn McDaid, Imogen Hall, Lydia Ishmael, Maisie Hatcher, Ffion Jones, Lily Brice and Evie Hatcher.

The dances performed by the children on the day were; Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Quickstep, Samba, Rumba Cha Cha, Mambo & Rock n Roll.

Silhouette proprietor, Rob Barley, said, “Once again the children have done everyone proud.  These fantastic grades are the result of their hard work and dedication over the past six months and I am really proud of their achievements. I would also like to thank my assistant teachers Joanne Smith, Donna Smith and Flis Salter for their part in this success”.
