The timely revival of Frank Vickery's, Erogenous Zones has probably been a revealation to his devoted and loyal fan-base.

Written in 1991, and set this time, in the city, the play follows the complicated love-lives of five inter-woven characters.

A cleverly built set allows the audience to view three different locations at the same time, and in a unique twist our central characters also talk over each other in different scenes within these areas.

This unusual dynamo allows for the humour, sexual tension, drama and indeed pathos to continually rise and fall and it is with all credit to a superbly talented cast that this format remains so successful throughout the play.

Ian H Watkins is perfectly cast as Michael, our central character who is hopelessly in love with his flatmate Andrew. Self-assured, beguiling and with an effortless knack for comic timing, his acting is certainly a match for his musical talent.

Newport's, Lewis Cook is more than worthy as his foil, Andrew. Cheeky, arrogant, selfish, the definitive bad boy that all the girls (and in this case boys!) love.

Two strong female leads, Michelle McTernan (Lesley) and Victoria Pugh (Alison) both tellingly pay the price for their individual adultery whilst errant husband Tom, played by the very capable Ross O'Hennesy, shares no greater fate.

Is it social comment indeed then, that our only worthy character eventually turns out to be..Michael!

The play runs until Saturday
