CHILDREN in Newport could be celebrating Christmas at the same time as raising money for a Gwent charity.
The festive grotto at Newport indoor market opened this week and will raise funds for St Anne's hospice.
St Anne's has delivered dedicated in-bed palliative care services are from St Joseph's hospital in Newport since September 1994.
Children can pay Santa a visit for £3.50 and have photograph taken with the man himself for £5.
St Anne's admin assistant Jan Yuill said all were welcome at the grotto.
She said: "We'd like as many children as possible to take part and enjoy a Christmas treat.
"They'll be helping a good cause at the same time as meeting Santa."
St Anne's hospice is owned and managed by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Annecy. There are currently 10 patient beds.
