THERE doesn’t seem to be many bands these days that grow as consistently as the Kings of Leon. The Tennessee group have improved with each of their four albums to the extent they are now one of the hottest names in rock and roll.
In Cardiff on Wednesday they delighted the CIA audience for over 90 minutes with a set list which included their last two singles Sex is on Fire and Use Somebody as well as a number of hits from their back catalogue.
When tickets went on sale in the summer the gig sold out in only a couple of days and that was before the release of their latest album Only by the Night which hit number one in the charts.
The fans in attendance were handed a pre-Christmas treat with the band producing an energetic performance and crisp sound.
The projection of singer Caleb Followill’s voice was clear and he thanked the crowd for filling the arena.
It was their headlining slot at Glastonbury this year that really saw Kings of Leon take off and festival boss Michael Eavis was one of the 5,000 in the South Wales audience enjoying the show.
