A NEWPORT-BORN man has overcome his condition to launch his own coach service company.
Asperger Syndrome sufferer Peter Young, 27, launched UK Express Coaches yesterday morning at Newport bus station yesterday.
Mr Young has been on medication for his condition since 1995 and it leaves him with a poor attention span and poor reading ability.
He said that after researching the bus services in the area, he found there to be a gap in services provided to some airports and cities.
Mr Young, who now lives in Glasgow, said: “I was born and grew up in Newport and so this is my way of giving something back. I also wanted to prove that Asperger Syndrome sufferers can still achieve.”
The service will be based in Edinburgh but will provide routes directly from Newport to Edinburgh, Manchester, Manchester Airport, Birmingham International Airport, Chepstow, Lydney, West Linton and Biggar.
Mr Young dedicated the service to his late uncle, Harry Tyler, from Maesglas, who gave him a lot of support setting up the business.
