A DELICATE show pony was stolen from a stable in Risca.

Miss Moneypenny, a British miniature pony, which measures just 32 inches at the shoulder, was taken on November 14 at about 6pm shortly after being locked in the stable on the Twmbarlwm mountain road, Ty Sign, with other horses.

Her owner, who did not want to be named, said: "She is quite delicately boned. She has a specific diet which she has to follow so I am very worried about her.

"They obviously knew she was there because they did not take any other of the bigger horses. She is not supposed to be ridden - she is so tiny you could only put a three-year-old on her - and she has never been broken."

Miss Moneypenny is described as a chocolate filly with a lighter mane containing blonde streaks. She now has a thicker winter coat and her inner coat is a mousy grey.

Police are investigating and anyone with any information is asked to call 01633 838111.
