A NEWPORT designer has launched a clothing company featuring a collection of T-shirts and fleeces for men and women.
Maria Bowden has been inspired by her experiences and encounters while travelling through India, Asia and South America.
Her label is called Cosmicelf and is said to be driven by a desire to create a look which is individual and magical.
She said: "Having travelled extensively I've taken the magic elements from several cultures and traditions and woven them together in my imagination."
The theme of individuality will be maintained by Cosmicelf with the frequent introduction of limited editions and new ranges.
Ms Bowden already has plans to introduce a range of handbags and other fashion accessories.
The collection can be viewed and ordered online at www.cosmicelf.com and is also available at designer retailers.
Tish John, of business advisor CODA, said: "Maria wanted to make her designs accessible to as wide an audience as possible, so the strategy has been to co-ordinate the launch of the website with the availability in exclusive retail outlets. "Fashion is a hugely competitive sector and, while Maria's designs have freshness and energy we wanted to ensure she tackled her market as efficiently as possible."
"We have advised her on a range of issues, including registering the brand as a trade mark and exploring franchise possibilities."
CODA manages The Aspire Programme for the WDA. This seeks out businesses with growth potential and supports them with free business advice and services. If you want to learn more contact CODA on 01633 811 845.
