The Guardian recently voted the University of Wales, Newport the 25th best university in the UK for its overall teaching scores, and the best in Wales! Newport was also placed in the top half of UK universities for research - our School of Art, Media and Design gained a 5 rating - the top in Britain!

Our students think highly of the University too. In a recent student satisfaction survey 94% were very satisfied or satisfied with the University overall and 96% were very satisfied or satisfied with the challenge of the course.

As well as first class teaching, students at the University enjoy access to excellent libraries and learning resources, shops, bars and restaurants and a modern sports hall and fitness centre. The Careers Service is there to help students find work placements and jobs and the Student Services team can provide emotional, financial, medical or academic help, should any student need it.

The Students' Union organises a busy entertainment programme, whether it's a live band, comedy act and theme night, there's always plenty going on. The Students' Union also supports the University's many clubs and societies. At present there are 20 clubs and societies including extreme sports, archaeology, karate and drama.

So make the most of your time in Newport and join those who have gone before you in the best three years of your life
