Cerys Matthews will make her only UK appearance this summer at a festival in Wales.

The new mum and fresh star of country and western can be found at the Sesiwn Fawr Dolgellau on Friday, July 16.

She'll be travelling from her American home in Nashville especially to take part in the two-day event.

Sesiwn Fawr is an annual festival covered by the S4C programme of the same name, on which, no doubt, Cerys' performance will feature.

This event's happening is focused on Welsh-language acts from the rock and folk genres.

Other bands on the bill include Anweledig, Kentucky AFC, Bryn Fon, Susgeela Raman, meinir Gwilym and Fernhill.

Cerys will be playing her solo debut album, Cockahoop, which she first played at festivals last year, including Glastonbury.

Fans and critics alike welcomed the record, with its mix of country songs and traditional Welsh music.

Cerys released one single from it, titled In The Middle, which featured two unreleased songs on the B side.

She can also be heard on Later With Jools Holland, HOOTENANNY, a DVD featuring some of the best performances from the TV show. Cerys is featured with Tom Jones singing Baby It's Cold Outside.
