AN EBBW Vale man suffered serious injuries when he was stabbed in the town's High Street last night.
A man has been arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning grievous bodily harm.
Inspector Simon Powell-Jones, of Gwent Police, said officers were called to a disturbance in the street at about 11.40pm.
He said that when they arrived at the scene they discovered the man had been stabbed and was unconscious. The man was given medical treatment and was taken to Nevill Hall Hospital, Abergavenny, by ambulance.
Insp Powell-Jones said: "The injuries sustained have been described as serious, but not life-threatening."
