THE Royal Mint at Llantrisant really is worth a mint. Property experts value it at over £17m.
The Mint produces all the coins in circulation in the United Kingdom as well as for many other countries.
Chris Clarke, of property advisers Chesterton, considered the Mint's unique security features, offices, fitness suite and gross internal area of just under half a million square feet.
He said: "The valuation of Royal Mint has been one of my most interesting recent inspections because of the unique role it fulfils.
"The Royal Mint is a unique establishment and, because of the sensitivity of the site, it presented us with a number of unusual challenges in completing the project."
