MORE than 400 pupils from schools in the Gwent valleys danced, sang and ate their way around the world this week when Abertillery Comprehensive School held its annual multi-cultural arts festival.
Pupils from local primary schools teamed up with Year Seven pupils from Abertillery for the arts council-funded event, which took place on Thursday evening.
Among the variety of performances taking place were Brazilian samba drumming and dancing, West Indian steel drumming, Japanese dancing and a performance of the Maori Haka.
There was also the opportunity to taste Indian and Caribbean cuisine, and some of the costumes worn during the evening were designed by Kalpner Singh, who has worked on the Notting Hill carnival.
