JOE Calzaghe's proposed fight against American David Telesco, pictured, in Cardiff on August 17 was officially called off this morning.
His New York-based rival has pulled out of the contest with promoters now trying to line up another WBO world super-middleweight title opponent for the Newbridge southpaw.
"I've only heard the news from American websites," said Calzaghe this morning.
"Obviously I'd be very disappointed as it's only just under four weeks to my title date.
"Telesco would have been a great opponent. He went ten rounds with Roy Jones Junior and he's never been stopped."
