TIM Harris says that "complacency" could be Newport County's biggest enemy tonight (7:45pm) as they look to make it a hat-trick of league wins at struggling Newport Isle Of Wight.

The Exiles tour bus travels over the Solent with the Newport manager warning his players: "We cannot afford to go there and assume we will get three points just for turning up."

County haven't beaten the Islanders in three league attempts - and Harris says if his players arrive at St George's Park expecting to win they will come unstuck again. "They are down there fighting for their lives," he said. "Newport IOW will battle for everything so we must earn the right to win.

"We have won two league games in a row and it would be just the tonic if we could make it three tonight, therefore keeping our run going and the confidence up."

In the reverse fixture, the two Newport's drew 0-0 in South Wales two months ago. The hosts are deep in the relegation mire, but it is against the struggling Dr Martens Premier League sides like Bath City, Cambridge City and at Merthyr Tydfil where County have dropped vital points that could have pushed them right in the promotion pack.

"If we turned a few of them results into a win, we would be right up there now," fumed Harris.

"We have proven that we can play against the best teams in the league, but it's against the sides that are below us in the league is where we struggle.

"So, tonight we cannot be complacent. We must concentrate and focus right from the first whistle because they will be up for it."

With Garry Shephard and Stuart James still injured, Harris is sweating on the fitness of midfielder Nathan Davies and defenders Steve Benton and Andrew Thomas (knee).
