POLICE say they have reported a bus driver on a charge of causing death by dangerous driving following an accident involving Newport mother Jane Humphries.

Mrs Humphries, (pictured) a 58-year-old mother of two, sustained multiple injures in the accident on June 23 outside the Harding Evans law firm in Pump Street, Newport, where she worked.

The accident involved a Glyn Williams Travel bus, which had been on its way up the Western Valley. Mrs Humphries had just left work when it happened.

Mrs Humphries was taken to Newport's Royal Gwent Hospital after the accident, but died ten days later.

She left husband Wayne, 56, and sons Jason, 27, and Andrew, 23.

Gwent Police say they have completed their investigation into the accident, and have passed a file to the Crown Prosecution Service.

A Gwent Police spokesman said last night: "We have reported the driver for causing death by dangerous driving."

The CPS will now decide on what action will be taken over the case.
