THERE are two comedy nights coming soon to the Beaufort Theatre, Ebbw Vale. The first features award-winning comedian Jeff Green, (pictured) who stops off at the Beaufort Theatre on Saturday, February 2, at 8pm. Tickets are £10.

Fresh from a month travelling in Australia in his Camper van, he's back to do what he loves best - charming his audiences with his hysterical observations on life, love, cats, and Carol Vorderman.

In this, his critically acclaimed new show, he will be grappling with sticky subjects such as growing up and dating.

Jeff will also be trying to find out how girls learn to take off a bra under their T-shirt! His previous tours of Australia and the UK in 1997 took both countries by storm, and he performed to sell-out audiences at the Sydney and Melbourne comedy festivals. He also recorded an ITV special Jeff Green Up West in 1997, followed by You're Only Human with Jeff Green, which he wrote and starred in 1998.

Jeff has also appeared on such television programmes as Des O'Connor Tonight and The Clive James Show.

He has appeared on BBC1's They Think It's All Over three times and made a record breaking fifth appearance on BBC2's Never Mind The Buzzocks last year. Other television credits include Have I Got News For You and The Big Breakfast.

Don't miss this opportunity to see one of the most popular comedians working in the UK today.

Special guest Hattie Hayridge and Noel Britten will support Jeff.

The second night of comedy, on Thursday, March 7, at 8pm, features Steve Gribben, a diminutive guitar-wielding satirist from Liverpool whose scabrous comedy songs and off-the-wall observations have made him one of the firm favourites of the comedy circuit. His material covers such diverse subjects as the Royal Family, America, Tony Blair, amateur drinkers, women priests, rock stars and the paparazzi.

Underneath his cuddly exterior there lies a perverse comic mind full of wicked patter and brilliant comic songs that will reverberate around your mind for weeks.

Firmly based in rock 'n' roll and refusing to pull no punches, these are that rarity - comedy songs which are actually funny.

The evening will also feature Ian Cognito and Ben Norris. Tickets £7.50. The comedy nights take place in the cosy atmosphere of the Beaufort Theatre's Ballroom, where the bar is not far away!
