CHAMPIONS Govilon enjoyed a 4-2 P&P Pest Control Cup victory over Goytre who led 2-1 at half time.

Goytre went 1-0 up after twenty minutes, Govilon passed back to their goalkeeper who slipped and Adam Roberts put Goytre ahead after 20 minutes but Robert Burns levelled.

Sam Schwank headed Goyte back in front with an own goal but made amends by scoring from just outside the box.

Goals from Jamie Wilkins and Anthony Ellaway gave Govilon victory. Last year's runners up Owens Corning A had a comfortable 8-0 win over Division Two outfit Gilwern B. Michael Murton (3), Danny McGee (2), Tim Walbyoff, Mathew Robinson and an own goal from Gilwern B's Steve Bell completed the scoreline.

In the Usk derby, the Usk Town side from Division One beat Division Two's Usk Prescoed 6-1. Goal scorers for Usk Town were Daniel Bevan (4) and one a piece from Daniel Price and Mike Dixon. Mark Harrison scored Prescoed's goal.

The second round tie between Blaenavon Blues and Owens Corning B was abandoned when Leon Catley (Blues) was taken to hospital with a suspected broken leg.

Lower New Inn returned to their cup success with a 4-1 win over Pontypool B. Lee Howells grabbed a brace while Dave Redwood scored a cracking 87th-minute effort for the winners.

Llanarth's Toby Preece struck an extra-time winner to give his side a 4-3 victory over Clydach Wasps. Gareth Smith had scored a first-half hat-trick for Clydach Wasps. In Division One, fourth-placed Sebastopol chalked up a 6-0 away win at Race United. Star of the match was Mike Gallivan who struck four goals and Alex Lewis contributed two.

Gilwern & District beat Mardy 3-1. The Gilwern goals were scored by Jason Mason, Steve Williams and Graham Rees. Chris Skinner replied with a penalty. Tranch United just pipped Fairfield United 3-2. Goal scorers for Tranch were Jason Holvey, John Aherne and Karl Crook. Goal scorers for Fairfield United were Gareth Jones and David Ashley.

New Inn and Panteg drew their local derby match 2-2. Both goals for New Inn were scored by Simon Duggan, Chris Lewis and Gareth Jeffreys.

Mill United lost 8-1 to Pontypool Town. Goal scorers for Town were Simon Pugh (3) and Gareth Donovan, Martin Page, Chris Watkins, Adrian Price and Gary Bond all scored a goal a piece. Little Mill's goal was scored by Steve Bennett.

Only one game took place in Division Two and that was between Sebastopol B at home to Govilon B, the match finished up all square at 3-3. Goal scorers for Sebastopol B were Ian Mruk (2) who has now notched five in two games and Tony Davies scored one. Goal scorers for Govilon B were Jamie Jones, Craig Bennett and Craig Gilchrist. Govilon B takes over from Precoed in second place.
