TWO more Newport children have reported apparent abduction attempts, say police. And one school has issued a warning to parents to be on their guard after the latest reports.

We exclusively revealed on Tuesday how officers are investigating allegations that a group of men in a silver car tried to entice a ten-year-old into their vehicle in Alway on Sunday afternoon.

Now, a second girl says she was also approached by men in a silver car on the same day, near the docklands area.

And in a separate incident, an 11-year-old boy reported he had been approached while roller-skating last Friday by a man in a white van.

Schoolgirl Jessica Hermanis, 12, told her mother, Lisa Hall, she was tailed by five men of Asian appearance in a silver car as she returned from visiting her grandmother.

It was around the same time that three men of similar description tried to coax ten-year-old Emma Heeps into their 'silver' car at Alway, about four miles away.

Lisa Hall said: "She was walking down Commercial Street on the way home when a silver car with five men in it began kerb-crawling beside her.

"They were shouting things like 'Look at me!' but she took no notice of them. When she left Commercial Street to go into Albion Close, where we live they drove off, but they must have known the area because they drove through to Albion Close to cut her off.

"They were actually waiting outside my house as Jessica came towards us. They jeered and drove off after backing into my drive." Neither she nor Jessica recognised them. Meanwhile, Marshfield Junior and Infants School has written to warn parents after one pupil said he was approached in Marshfield Road at 4.20pm on Friday.

A police spokeswman said: "The person in the passenger side was hanging out of the window with a bag in his hands. No words were exchanged between the man in the passenger seat and the boy and it is not clear what was contained within the bag."

The police have issued a description of the passenger as being a white male, around 30 years of age and with dark hair and a flat parting.

Any one with information on the incidents is asked to call police on 01633 244999.
