A CWMBRAN man is in the running to be crowned Beach Body of the Year 2010.
Danny Collier, 26, is in the final of the UK-wide competition of the www.icelolly.com Beach Body Challenge.
Mr Collier, a former Fairwater High School pupil, was urged to enter the competition by a friend and after the judging panel inspected a shot of him on holiday in Cuba, he was picked to go through to the final.
He is now one of 12 finalists from across the UK competing to bag the top prize of a holiday in Majorca and title of Beach Body 2010.
Mr Collier, of Earlsmeade, Greenmeadow, keeps in shape by swimming three times a week and going running.
He said: "I'm really pleased, I didn't expect to get into the final - if I won, I'd be ecstatic."
