FORMER Wales and Newport Gwent Dragons rugby star Colin Charvis took his first look around the Sparkle Appeal’s new children’s centre.
Mr Charvis became an ambassador for the Argus-backed charity last year and was invited to the new state-of-the-art children’s centre at High Cross on Tuesday, to see the almost-finished product.
For almost six years, the South Gwent Children’s Foundation’s Sparkle Appeal has been raising money to build a new centre and now the building itself is complete.
Once it is finished, the facility with provide a central hub for children and their families, which will save them having to travel hundreds of miles across the country to access the services they need.
Facilities will include a hydrotheraphy pool, dark/light therapy room, assessment nursery, consulting gym, quiet rooms and an IT resource library.
