CADETS in Blaenau Gwent put their best feet forward for a 10-mile sponsored walk.
A group of 10 police cadets set off from Tredegar Police Station on Saturday morning, with the aim of visiting Blaenau Gwent's three other main stations in Ebbw Vale, Brynmawr and Abertillery, to raise money for a good cause.
The cadets planned the walk as they wanted to play their part in raising money for Comic Relief and they decided on the walk to show their support.
Cadet, Danielle Vaughan, said: "We got together and decided we wanted to do something for Comic Relief and thought this would be a good idea. The walk will allow us to be visible in the community, but at the same time we can raise money for a good cause." The group is currently counting how much was raised.
Gwent Police cadets are between 16 and 19 years old and are part of an 18-24 month scheme aimed at developing themselves as individuals, while assisting their local communities.
Blaenau Gwent currently has more than 10 cadets taking part in the scheme, which will be rolled out across Gwent's other local authority areas this year.
For more information on the cadet scheme contact your local station on 101.
