THIS is the moment masked robbers burst into a betting shop in Pontllanfraith and pointed a shotgun at terrified staff.
Police released the CCTV image as the hunt for two men, who were also armed with a knife, continues.
The pair demanded money from a cashier at Ladbrokes on Commercial Road at around 8.20pm on Monday, October 17, before making off with an undisclosed amount.
Officers launched an enquiry after two workers, thought to be a man and a woman, were left uninjured but shaken.
But so far no arrests have been made and no weapons found.
Gwent Police last night renewed its appeal for information and released the image.
It shows one man wearing a blue jumper with a distinctive yellow square on the shoulders and another in a camouflage jacket and tracksuit bottoms.
Detective Superintendent Paul Griffiths is leading a 20- strong team of staff who are still investigating the incident.
He said numerous lines of enquiry and house-to-house calls were being made, and urged anyone who may have information to come forward.
“If you think you recognise the two men in the CCTV from their shape, size and the style of clothing please get in touch. I would also ask that anyone who may know someone who has access to an illegal firearm to contact us,” he said.
Residents are advised not to approach anyone fitting either man’s description but contact police immediately, and confidentially, instead on 101 or 0800 555111.
