THE Newport Gwent Dragons will take on the Scarlets tonight wearing a specially designed shirt in aid of a local charity.
The club has chosen Life Music Foundation as its charity of the year and will show its support by wearing the distinctive purple shirt at the game.
Life Music Foundation, which was launched last year, gives young people with no financial means access to musical instruments and music tuition.
The shirt was chosen by Dragons fans from a choice of four designs through an online survey and more than 100 shirts have already been bought by supporters.
Life Music Foundation founder Daniel O’Connell said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to raise the profile of the charity and more importantly help to raise vital funds to help us give young people with no financial means access to music.
“We would urge supporters to grab the opportunity to buy this one-off design and we can’t wait to see the Dragons players wearing the shirt when they take to the pitch tonight.”
The charity shirt, which costs £49.95, is available from the Life Music Foundation shop at 35 Upper Dock Street, online at lifemusicfoundation.org and from the Dragons’ official shop at Rodney Parade for tonight only.A bucket collection for the charity will also be carried out at Rodney Parade tonight.
