POLICE are hunting a man who sexually assaulted a teenage girl in broad daylight.

The girl, 14, was attacked as she stood at a bus stop on Malpas Road, Newport, on Monday.

She was waiting at the bus stop opposite the BP petrol station at around 10am when the man walked up to her and began talking to her.

He then touched her before walking off in the direction of Subway and Tesco.

The alleged attacker is described as being in his late 20s, mixed race and has a black beard. He was wearing a hooded jumper and had the hood up at the time of the assault.

He did not have a local accent and has a turn in one of his eyes.

Gwent Police said the victim is being supported by officers as the investigation continues.
