A MONMOUTH singer who appeared on a television gameshow more than 20 years ago is preparing to sing her winning song on BBC One tonight.

Rozi Morris, 64, known then as Rosemary Noble, appeared on Bob Says Opportunity Knocks, hosted by the late Bob Monkhouse, in 1990, and went onto win the show after singing Danny Boy.

“It was nerve-wracking and a bit like Britain’s Got Talent, said Mrs Morris, of Hadnock Road.

“Bob Monkhouse was lovely and I enjoyed singing live,” added the trained opera singer who describes her style as cross-over classic.

Now the grandmother-oftwo is preparing to sing the same song once again on the BBC’s The One Show.

She released solo material in 1974, most notably a single called Morning of my Life with Love Story as the Bside, and has performed in the band Wild Welsh Women with daughter Tamzin Powell, 44, and hosted her own show Sound Noble on HTV.

Mrs Morris was thrilled when a BBC researcher, tracing former contestants, got in touch.

“I have seen the show and am looking forward to singing live,” she said.
