PLANS to turn the Coach and Horses pub in Caerwent into tearooms are being considered by Monmouthshire County Council.
A planning application requesting the alteration and extension of the building to create a tearoom was submitted to the council’s planning department in December.
Caerwent Community Council have recommended the plans for approval.
County council conservation officer Amy Longford said plans for a modern extension on the former stables building, to include a covered colonnaded area and fountain, must be omitted as they are not features of traditional stables.
Objections have been received from residents living opposite the site.
