SHOPPERS warned tonight to be on their guard against a gang of purse snatchers.
Police thinks two purse thefts and an attempted theft in Monmouthshire and Torfaen could be the work of the same pair.
Officers say that in all three incidents the offenders are described as being a man and a woman of Asian origin.
The first theft happened at the Waitrose supermarket in Monmouth town centre at around 10.45am on Wednesday when they struck and stole a woman's purse containing cash, debit cards and a driving license.
The second incident was an attempted purse theft at Savers Health and Beauty in Abergavenny at around 12.30pm.
The third time the pair struck was at the Kwik Save supermarket in Pontypool at around 1.15pm when a purse containing a pension card and cash was stolen.
