MORE than 1,000 people visited Abergavenny Market Hall for the fourth Vintage Fair on Sunday.

Visitors browsed some 20 stalls selling vintage clothing, homeware and accessories, enjoyed afternoon tea in a vintage café and were entertained by a group of jive dancers from Usk.

Four fashions shows were held throughout the day featuring volunteers, aged from 14 to 60, modelling clothing from a range of decades including the 1940s to 70s from Vintage Vision shops in Abergavenny and Blaenavon.

The event was organised by Vintage Vision – a social enterprise centred on a vintage clothes shop run by volunteers and a group of trustees.

The enterprise not only sells vintage clothes but also teaches women to fix, sew and remodel them and holds regular workshops.

Amanda Peters, one of four Trustees at Vintage Vision, said: “This year’s event attracted more visitors than last year.”

“The jive demonstrations and catwalk shows were fantastic and we’re now planning our next fair on July 1.”
