PONTYPOOL pupils got fruity as part of Fairtrade Fortnight celebrations.
Children and staff at Ysgol Bryn Onnen donned Fairtrade fruit and vegetable costumes as part of a week full of activities to mark the occasion.
This included guest speakers and a Fairtrade fair which raised £280 for Fairtrade Wales.
The activities are also part of the school’s bid for Fairtrade status. It is hoped an application will now be put in before Easter.
Head teacher Ryan Parry said: “It has been a lot of fun but with an important message behind it for the children.”
