Dwr Cymru Welsh Water is to create 40 "high quality" jobs in Newport at a new laboratory.
The new water quality laboratory will be housed in the former HSBC building in Tredegar Park and is set to be operational at the end of this year.
A smaller laboratory at Bretton, near Broughton, has just become operational with a further 10 jobs being created there.
Dwr Cymru is investing £8.6million creating these new facilities.
