FIRST Minister of Wales Carwyn Jones has sent a message of good luck to the Welsh rugby team ahead of their Grand Slam clash against France this weekend.

The First Minister said: "I want to say good luck to the boys for the game this Saturday. I know they have the talent, passion and the fitness to win.

"We are so close to clinching our third Grand Slam in eight years and I don't think we have yet seen the best of what the team can achieve.

"Come on boys, do the nation proud."

Presiding Officer of the National Assembly and Newport AM, Rosemary Butler lent her support to Wales: "I am sure that the whole of Wales will come to a standstill on Saturday afternoon in support of the team. If we win, it will be a fantastic and deserving result after a wonderful tournament.

"To achieve three Grand Slams in eight years will be a huge achievement that will put these players on the same level as the greats from the seventies."
