FIRE fighters were called to a house fire on Commercial Street, Old Cwmbran, today.
The fire broke out in the roof above the first floor, with two crews from Cwmbran and one from Malpas attending.
It broke out at around 4pm before spreading to the roof of an extension.
A spokesman for South Wales Fire and Rescue Service said that no-one was in the property at the time and the fire was under control by 4.30pm.
