THE RSPCA is appealing for information following two attacks on pigeons in Gwent.
The RSPCA is looking for a group of around five teenagers involved in an incident on Frogmore Street in Abergavenny on Sunday.
One of the teenagers was seen trampling on a pigeon in front of William Nicholls and Co.
It was witnessed by a man who shouted at the boys and it also caught the attention of another passer-by who reported the incident to the RSPCA.
The badly injured and broken-winged pigeon was picked up to be taken home and cared for by the passer-by but died a few minutes later.
The teenagers are thought to be around 15 to 16-years-old with the main perpetrator being of slim to medium build with short, fair hair.
In the other incident, RSPCA inspector Christine McNeil collected a badly injured white pigeon on April 27 near the doorstep of a block of flats on Lambourne Way in Bettws.
The bird is believed to have been shot by a pellet.
RSPCA inspector Liz Walker said: "There is no excuse for this whatsoever."
Anyone with information should call the RSPCA on 0300 1234 999.
