THERE were no clear documents found stating the sources of all the funds paid into a business involving a Gwent man accused of conspiracy to commit fraud, a court heard yesterday.

Detective Constable David Palmer was giving evidence at the trial of Paul Dallimore, 61, of Wentwood View, Caldicot, and Alun Weeks, 61, of Heol Don, Cardiff.

Both deny two counts of conspiracy to commit fraud and a count of carrying out unauthorised investment business.

The court previously heard how nearly £1.2million was accepted from “honest, gullible” people by the defendants who encouraged them to put investments into another company through the defendants’ business Global Microcap Limited (GML).

Officer in the case, DC Palmer said he had carried out searches in May 2009 including the home and office of Dallimore recovering large amounts of documents and emails. Prosecuting barrister Roger Thomas QC asked: “Did you find anywhere any clear documents stating what the sources of funds were which related to GML’s bank account?”

DC Palmer replied: “No, not a comprehensive document.”
