THEY may have come third to a performing dog, but for one member of Only Boys Aloud, his showbusiness career is only just beginning.
Keenan Knight was one of 135 boys to wow the Britain’s Got Talent judges in Saturday’s live final, and following strong support from Wales, they finished an impressive third, losing out to a dancing dog and a pair of opera singers.
While practising for the television show, Mr Knight found out he had been awarded a place at Performers College, Essex.
The 18 year old, who has been part of the choir’s Cwmbran group for more than a year, is currently studying for a BTEC in musical theatre at Coleg Gwent’s Cross Keys campus.
He is hoping to take the same subject for a further three years at his new college, which specialises in the performing arts.
Mr Knight is nowlooking for sponsors to help him pay fees of £14,000 a year.
With mum Maria, 43, he hopes to save up a third of the cost.
He said: “I have always wanted to perform in the West End musicals.
It would mean so much.”
Mr Knight auditioned against hundreds of other hopefuls in February.
He has written to a number of companies asking if they can help him realise his dream.
Mr Knight can be contacted by emailing ripvan10@ hotmail.com
