A GIRL of eight was attacked and robbed of her dog in Caerleon last night.
Police are appealing for information after the incident on the rugby fields in the town.
The eight-year-old, who is from Caerleon area, was walking her dog at about 9pm when she was approached by two older girls. She was assaulted and the dog was taken. The eight-year-old received minor injuries The dog is described as a King Charles Cavalier, with a red collar with yellow paws on it, a retractable lead and answers to the name 'Star'.
Two girls - aged 13 and 12 - who were arrested have been bailed pending police enquiries.
