FINAL preparations are being made to ensure the third Devauden music festival goes without a hitch.
The village’s two-day event, which starts tomorrow, welcomes its strongest line-up yet to raise funds for its Hood Memorial Hall.
Organiser Jeremy Horton has reported double ticket sales in the run-up to the festival.
Rusty Shackle, a band which will perform at Cardiff’s concert to welcome the Olympic torch, headline Folk Friday, and are one of 24 acts pencilled in to perform in the grounds of the memorial hall.
Rocking Saturday will be a mix of musical genres, from Too Toned, a ska band from the Vale of Glamorgan, to indie-based bands like Eric Unseen.
The main act on Saturday is Bonfire, the authentic AC/DC tribute band.
For 2012, Mr Horton and the Hood Memorial Hall committee have brought in two initiatives – camping and transport from Chepstow, Caldicot and surrounding villages.
Mr Horton said there has been immense interest in the buses, and if oversubscribed priority will be given to those who have pre-booked tickets.
He is hoping the event, funds from which will also go to children’s hospice Ty Hafan, will attract thousands.
“I really hope people come out and support the festival regardless of the current weather,” he added.
A licensed bar will be on site, with wine from Tintern’s Parva Farm Vineyard for sale.
Visitors are welcome to bring their own picnic.
