A group of Gwent students have made the final of a regional talent competition.
Caerleon comprehensive pupils Tom Matthews , Jake Mier, Edd Cowburn, Jack Roberts and Dave Prigg, will take time out from revising for their A-Levels to play the final of Cardiff's Got Talent on Sunday(27).
The five mates formed their indie-guitar band, The Novelty Items, just over 18-months ago, but negotiated four previous rounds of the competition and a starting field of 370 acts, to reach the final at the Cardiff Coal Exchange.
Tom Matthews, the bassist in the band, said: "It's is going to be amazing playing a big crowd and it's even more special to be doing it with your mates.
We would all like to make the band work and try and get a record deal now we've finished our A-Levels so hopefully this will help."
